L’abbaye de Blasimon à la lumière des sources archéologiques et textuelles
L’historiographie de l’abbaye de Blasimon n’aborde presque pas les relations que le monastère entretient avec les autres protagonistes du monde monastique. La question de l’évolution du réseau, propre à Blasimon, et de son insertion dans les réseaux monastiques à l’échelle de l’Entre-deux-Mers bazadais (diocèse de Bazas) a donc fait l’objet d’un travail universitaire en 2019. L’analyse des sources textuelles est suivie d’une étude du bâti de l’ensemble abbatial, afin de présenter des hypothèses de phasages et une restitution des volumes et de leur organisation. Les approches historique, documentaire et architecturale sont complétées par une approche archéologique. Ce travail universitaire s’est, en effet, inscrit dans le cadre d’une campagne de restauration de l’abbaye débutée en 2016, dont le suivi archéologique a été assuré par la société d’archéologie préventive Hadès. Les structures découvertes à l’occasion de cette opération archéologique sont majoritairement datées de l’époque moderne. Elles viennent donc compléter les données apportées par les sources et l’analyse des élévations subsistantes pour la période médiévale
The Blasimon Abbey in the light of archeological and textual sources
The historiography of Blasimon abbey does not give many clues as to the relationship between the abbey and the other protagonists of the monastic world. The question of the evolution of the connections between Blasimon and the other abbeys of Entre-Deux-Mers area belonging to the Bazas diocese was the subject of a research academic work. The analysis of textual sources is followed by the study of the building of the abbey to present phasing hypothesis and a restitution of the volumes and their organization. The historical, documentary and architectural approaches are completed by an archaeological approach. Indeed this academic research work was part of a restoration campaign of the abbey which started in 2016 and whose archaeological monitoring was provided by the preventive archaeology company Hadès. The structures which were discovered on the occasion of this archaeological operation are mainly modern ; they complete the data provided by the sources and the analysis of the remaining elevations for the medieval period
