D’un oustal roman à une boulangerie industrielle : opération archéologique au 14 rue Sainte-Colombe à Bordeaux
C’est au coeur du bourg médiéval de Saint-Eloi, au numéro 14 de la rue Sainte-Colombe, qu’une opération archéologique a permis la mise au jour et l’étude de deux grands fours de boulanger et l’analyse typo-chronologique des maçonneries environnantes attribuées aux époques médiévale et moderne.
Cette étude a aussi permis de compléter les connaissances sur l’évolution de l’occupation du sol du quartier et de la rue Sainte-Colombe en particulier
From a Roman Hostel to an Industrial Bakery : an archaeological operation at 14 rue Sainte-Colombe in Bordeaux
It is in the heart of the medieval village of Saint-Eloi, at number 14 rue Sainte-Colombe, that an archaeological operation has enabled the discovery and study of two large baker’s ovens and the typo-chronological analysis of the surrounding masonry attributed to the medieval and modern times.
This study also made it possible to complete our knowledge of the evolution of land use in the district, and in rue Sainte-Colombe in particular.
